The Velveteen Rabbit – The nursery magic is both bizarre and fascinating. The classic illustrated tale remains beloved over generations.
The story begins with “There was once a velveteen bunny, and in his beginning he was truly magnificent.” The effect was magical when he was placed in the Boy’s stocking top with a sprig holly between his feet on Christmas morning.
Then, after a while the rabbit toy is largely gone and the rabbit is dreaming about becoming Real. To be Real according to what a wise toy tells us that it is “a happening to you. If a child is with the person they love for long lengthy time and not only playing with you, but actually cares about you, then you’re Real ..”
Suggested Read: Pumpkin Moonshine, Millions of Cats, Pirate Pete’s Potty, Old Bear
However, how can the rabbit ever fulfill his goal to become Real?
It’s a touching tale that endures through the ages This low-cost edition of the beloved classic contains the entire text as well as original illustrations.

“What is REAL?” asked the Rabbit one day, as they were lying side-by-side in front of the fender for the nursery prior to when Nana arrived to tidy the room. “Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick-out handle?”
“Real isn’t how you are made,” said the Skin Horse. “It’s a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.”
“Does it hurt?” was the question asked by the Rabbit.
“Sometimes,” said the Skin Horse because he was always honest. “When you are Real you don’t mind being hurt.”
The Velveteen Rabbit – He asked, “Does it all at once like being wound up?” “The Skin Horse replied, “It doesn’t happen all at once.” “You become. It takes time. People who are fragile, have sharp edges, or require extra care won’t see it often. By the time you are Real, most of your hair has been conditioned and brushed. Your eyes will go dark, your joints will be sore, and your hair will look ruined. These are all irrelevant, because you’re Real.
