Beatrix Potter’s original masterpiece, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, is the tale of Peter Rabbit. Frederick Warne published The Tale of Peter Rabbit in 1902. It is still Beatrix Potter’s most beloved and loved tale. It is the tale of a mischievous rabbit who gets into trouble in Mr McGregor’s vegetable garden.
In 2002, the publication was re-published to commemorate the centenary. Six illustrations were restored. Four were removed in 1903 in order to make space for endpapers. Two were never used before. Beatrix originally created more illustrations than could fit in the original format. Beatrix Potter is one of the most beloved children’s authors in history.
Her first book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit (1902), was published by Frederick Warne. She went on to create a series of stories based on animal characters, including Mrs. Tiggywinkle, Benjamin Bunny and Jemima Puddle-duck. Her charming, vibrant tales and gorgeous illustrations are a part of every child’s childhood. Beatrix Potter was able to purchase a farm in Hill Top, England, with the proceeds from her books.

She later became a farmer, and a prize-winning sheep breeder. In 1903, she patent the first Peter Rabbit doll. Today, the product line continues to expand with licenses all over the globe. These include nursery decor products, baby clothes and bedding as well as collectibles.
Beatrix Potter, her beloved and beloved landowner, left 14 farms and 4000 acres of Lake District farmland over to the National Trust upon her death. Beatrix Potter was a lover of the countryside. She spent much time drawing and studying animals as a child. The Tale of Peter Rabbit was published in 1902. It was her first book. It was expanded from an illustrated letter she sent to a friend as a child. Beatrix Potter published more than 20 stories and collections of rhymes.
