Watty Piper

Watty Piper was a pen name for Arnold Munk, who was the publisher’s owner. business Platt & Munk. Arnold Munk was born in Hungary and, as a child, he emigrated along with family members to United States, settling in Chicago. 

Then he relocated into New York. The offices of Platt and Munk were located at 200 Fifth Avenue until 1957 when Arnold Munk died. Arnold Munk used the name Watty Piper both as the author of books for children and also as the editor of a number of publications which Platt & Munk published.
