The consensus of Quranic exegetes agrees that Surah Nasr is a late Medinan surah. It is often regarded as the last surah which was revealed in its entirety according to hadith by Ibn Abbas (cousin of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). Ubaidullah b. Abdullah b. Utba reported: Ibn Abbas said to me: Do you know-and in the words of Harun (another narrator):
Are you aware of the last Surah which was revealed in the Qur’an as a whole? I said: Yes,” When came the help from Allah and the victory”. Thereupon, he said: You have told the truth. (Sahih Muslim 3024)
