Surah Al Humazah Transliteration (Arabic text: ٱلهُمَزَة) is the 104th chapter of the Holy Qur’an. Surah Humazah titled in English means “The Slanderer” and Surah Humazah consists of 9 verses only.

3 | يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُ أَخْلَدَهُ | Yaḥsabu anna mālahu akhladah | HE THINKS THAT HIS WEALTH WILL MAKE HIM IMMORTAL |
4 | كَلَّا لَيُنْبَذَنَّ فِي الْحُطَمَةِ | Kallā layunbażanna fī al-ḥuṭamah | NO! HE WILL SURELY BE THROWN INTO THE CRUSHER |
5 | وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحُطَمَةُ | Wa mā adrāka mā al-ḥuṭamah | AND WHAT CAN MAKE YOU KNOW WHAT IS THE CRUSHER? |
6 | نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوقَدَةُ | Nāru Allāhi al-mūqadah | IT IS THE FIRE OF ALLAH, ETERNALLY FUELED |
7 | الَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الْأَفْئِدَةِ | Allatī taṭṭali‘u ‘alā al-af’idah | WHICH MOUNTS DIRECTLY TO THE HEARTS |
8 | إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِمْ مُؤْصَدَةٌ | Innahā ‘alayhim mu’ṣadah | INDEED, IT WILL BE CLOSED DOWN UPON THEM |

Summary
Surah Al-Humazah speaks against behaviors that destroy through malicious speech and shameful pride and corruptive practices when handling money. The punishments of Hellfire penetrate directly into the heart because no escaping is possible. Each section within this chapter shows how physical things have short lives and offer no guarantee for lasting results.
