In this Essay we will learn about Surah Al Alaq Transliteration. Surah Al-Alaq (Arabic text: العلق) is the 96th chapter of the Holy Qur’an. Surah Al Alaq titled in English means “The Clot”. Surah Al Alaq  consists of 19 verses only.

1ٱقْرَأْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَIqra bismi rabbika allathee khalaq
2خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِنْ عَلَقٍۢKhalaqa al-insana min AAalaq
3ٱقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلْأَكْرَمُIqra warabbuka alakram
4ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَ بِٱلْقَلَمِAllathee AAallama bialqalam
5عَلَّمَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْAAallama al-insana ma lam yaAAlam
6كَلَّآ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لَيَطْغَىٰٓKalla inna al-insana layatgha
7أَن رَّءَاهُ ٱسْتَغْنَىٰٓAn raahu istaghna
8إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلرُّجْعَىٰٓInna ila rabbika alrrujAAa
9أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يَنْهَىٰAraayta allathee yanha
10عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰٓAAabdan itha salla
11أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَانَ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰٓAraayta in kana AAala alhuda
12أَوْ أَمَرَ بِٱلتَّقْوَىٰٓAw amara bialttaqwa
13أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓAraayta in kaththaba watawalla
14أَلَمْ يَعْلَم بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرَىٰAlam yaAAlam bi-anna Allaha yara
15كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًۢا بِٱلنَّاصِيَةِKalla lain lam yantahi lanasfaAAan bialnnasiya
16نَاصِيَةٍۢ كَٰذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍۢNasiatin kathibatin khati-ah
17فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُۥFalyadAAu nadeeyah
18سَنَدْعُ ٱلزَّبَانِيَةَSanadAAu alzzabaniyah
19كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَٱسْجُدْ وَٱقْتَرِبKalla la tutiAAhu waosjud waiqtarib

About this Surah:

Surah Al Alaq – The first 5 verses of this Surah is believed to be the first verses revealed to Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) by Allah Almighty  (سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ). This signified the beginning of his Prophethood.

At the time Surah Al Alaq Transliteration was revealed the Angel Jibreel commanded him to read this Surah Al Alaq  but Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was illiterate and could neither read nor write.
