Salam alaikom wa rahmatullhah, sister,

I am delighted that you have decided to wear the hijab mahsallah. I hope Allah bless the efforts that you’ve put into Him.

It’s an enormous change; in fact, it is a significant transformation in a woman’s life. It would help if you got used to seeing a new face in the mirror before you step outside in public.

It takes work. However, it’s also an excellent step for Allah to thank Him in this manner. Be sure Allah is pleased with your efforts, dear one, and might be happy with you.

Dear sweet sister, many of us fear making huge decisions, like wearing the hijab.

If we are within our comfort zone most of the time and avoid doing things we’re afraid of, we’ll never progress or succeed.

Remember Why You Do This

Remind yourself regularly of why you do this: you desire Allah to be happy with you when He gazes at you.

You are seeking His mercy and His love. You cherish Him so much that you prioritize His will over yours, His pleasure over the pleasure of others.

If you are an excellent person to Allah throughout your life, Allah will bless you with His blessings. You’ll be more prosperous and happier in the name of Allah.

If he remembers Me in himself, I, too, remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a group of people, I remember him in a group that is better than they; and if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.’ “ (Bukhari)

Trust me when I say you’ll soon be familiar with the new look.

You must pray in front of Him that He will make this choice simple for you, to ensure that you remain steadfast and let you adore your hijab to the point that you’ll be unable to imagine a living without it. If you are feeling uneasy anytime, you can seek Him.

Some might not agree with me; however, should it help you, I believe you can tackle the hijab more slowly.

The same thing I did, I would wear it only at first at the Sisters’ Gathering and the mosque. I was wearing it for several months.

Then, I attended an interview with it, and when I was accepted, I decided that I would wear it for the rest of my life from that point on.

If you think it could be beneficial, wear it just every time you shop, or most importantly, visit the mosque. Later on, you can also begin wearing it at other locations.

You Have Free Will

Also, you mentioned that you feared you’d want to get off the ring. It’s possible to remove it. No one holds a gun to your head to make you do anything; it’s entirely your choice.

Your entire life is yours to manage. Therefore, you may opt to turn off the responsibility; it’ll be considered a sin in the same way as other crimes like drinking or smoking.

However, it’s your choice; only Allah knows what you want to do.

I know of sisters who have done this; they were married but later got divorced.

They were left with their children. Their spouses weren’t able to help financially, they didn’t have family, and their surroundings were not Muslim-friendly; therefore, they decided not to press themselves more and instead began doing work without a hijab.

I’m not saying it’s correct, but it isn’t. If you prioritize Allah and follow His will, He will always support you. Be aware of the hadith that says:

“I am just as My slave thinks I am (i.e. I can do for him what he thinks I can do for him), and I am with him if He remembers Me.”

However, it could occur… But don’t even think about this option, dear sister.

Never even consider it in your head. Instead, remember that Allah is our most trusted friend in this world. Trust Him. Concentrate on the reason why you want it to be worn. Inshallah, you will discover the happiness and comfort you desire.

Be brave, sister; may Allah reward you!
