Surah Al Kawthar (Arabic text: ٱلكَوْثَر) is the 108th Surah of the Holy  Qur’an. Surah Kawthar is titled in English “Abundant Good”. Surah Kawthar have of 3 verses only .

Dear Brothers and Sisters, Here is Surah Al-Kawthar with Arabic text, Urdu translation, transliteration, and English translation:

Ayat No.               Arabic Text         Transliteration   Urdu Translation               English Translation

1              إِنَّا أَعْطَيْنَاكَ الْكَوْثَرَ   Inna aʿṭaynāka al-kawthar            بے شک ہم نے آپ کو کوثر عطا کی۔     INDEED, WE HAVE GRANTED YOU AL-KAWTHAR.

2              فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَانْحَرْ     Faṣalli li-rabbika wanḥar                پس آپ اپنے رب کے لئے نماز پڑھیں اور قربانی دیں۔          SO PRAY TO YOUR LORD AND SACRIFICE [TO HIM ALONE].

3              إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ الْأَبْتَرُ   Inna shāni’aka huwa al-abtar       بے شک آپ کا دشمن ہی بے نسل ہے۔    INDEED, YOUR ENEMY IS THE ONE CUT OFF.

Surah Al-Kawthar Benefits

Thus, Surah Al-Kawthar is exegetically so filled with meaning: it is stated in many Hadith about our beloved Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). The following ahadeeth emphasize the blessings and importance of this Surah:

A Fountain of Blessings

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said:

It remains for it to be said ‘This is a Fountain from which my Ummah will seek water on the Day of Judgment.’ [Sahih Muslim]

The term Kawthar means a wonderful fountain that Allah has given to our Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). That fountain namely will be means of mercy for the believers and a place of rest from the Day of Judgment.

The First to Approach

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) declared:

‘Before you arrived at the Fountain I will have arrived.’ [Sahih al-Bukhari]

It will be the Our Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) the first to drink from this fountain, and he will make sure his Ummah benefits from it.

A Stream from Paradise

The Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) explained:

“Two ways from paradise shall flow into it and feed into it.”[Sahih Muslim]

Endurance and Reunion

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) advised his followers:

“Behind me you will find greed and favoritism; endure it until you see me at the Spring.” [Sahih al-Bukhari]

Although the present hardships and struggles are not endorsed through this hadith, the message awakened the spirit of patience and persevere through everything as the reward in heaven with the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) at Surah Al Kawthar await.
