Surah Al Asr Transliteration (Arabic text: العصر) is the 103rd chapter of the Holy Qur’an. Surah Asr titled in English means “The Declining Day” and Surah Asr consists of 3 verses only.

| 3 | إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ | Illā alladhīna āmanū wa ‘amilū al-ṣāliḥāti wa tawāṣaw bil-ḥaqqi wa tawāṣaw bil-ṣabr | EXCEPT FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BELIEVED AND DONE RIGHTEOUS DEEDS AND ADVISED EACH OTHER TO TRUTH AND ADVISED EACH OTHER TO PATIENCE |

Virtues and Rewards of Surah Al Asar Recitation
Emphasizing the importance of time: Through the first verse of Surah Al-Asr Allah teaches us about time’s urgent nature. In the first verse of the surah, Allah Almighty says: “By time” (Al-Asr: 1). A person becomes lost when they do not dedicate their time positively for beneficial purposes.
Reminding that man is at a loss: According to Surah Al-Asr all humanity stands without purpose because faith coexists with good actions. The Holy Quran explains that you need both belief and righteous conduct because both are essential for reaching spiritual salvation along with everlasting joy.
Increase Patience level: Through the natural process of reciting this particular this surah your patience increases and your faith becomes stronger. Practice of patience during this life will result in Allah’s blessings for you at the Day of Judgement.
