Dua For Rain – Rain is typically viewed as to be the grace by Allah (SWT). It could also be considered as punishment by Allah (SWT) in cases where it is excessive. So, when the rain begins to fall, we should beg Allah to give us His mercy’s rain.
It’s also recommended (recommended) for a perfect time for the acceptance of Dua. An opportunity to receive the prayers. You are free to make a request to Allah anything you like insofar as it’s not considered haram.
Al-Ghazali said: Umar, may Allah be pleased with him declared, “Let not one of you put off working for his needs, and begging Allah to give him what he needs, even though you know that the sky doesn’t shower gold and silver.”Source: Ihya’ Ulum al-Din 262
We should be active andseek the help of Allah and trust in Allah. The message Al-Ghazali tried to convey was that when we wish to do something, we have to be the ones who take action to make it happen. It won’t magically out of the sky because “it does not rain gold and silver”.

DUAS FOR WHEN IT RAINS
Dua For Rain – Here are a few Duas of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would use when it rains.
Transliteration for first Dua: Allaahumma sayyiban naafi’aa
Narrated by Aisha: When the Messenger of Allah (SAWS) observed that rain was coming, he would use to declare, “O Allah! Make it a mighty and productive rain.” Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 1032 Book Reference: Book 15 Hadith 27
Transliteration: allaahumma aghith-naa, allaahumma aghith-naa, allaahumma aghith-naa
Translation: O Allah, relieve O Allah, relieve us. O Allah we beg you to help us. Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 1014 in-book reference : Book 15. Hadith 9
Transliteration: allaahummas-qinaa ghaythan mugheethan, maree’an muree’an, naafi’an ghayra daarin, ‘aajilan ghayra aajil
Hadith said: A large number of people went to The Prophet (SAWS) crying (due to the drought). He said (making supplication): O Allah! Give us rain that will supply us with water abundantly, fertilising and profitable, and not hurtful that you grant it today without delay. He (the narration) declared: The sky was overcast. (Grade : Sahih (Al-Albani) The reference is Sunan Abi Dawud 1169 Book book reference : Book 3. Hadith 9 English translation: Book 3, Hadith 1165)
These are the three Duas that you can recite when it rains, based on The hadith of Prophet Muhammad May peace and blessings be with his soul.

HADITH ABOUT RAIN
Dua For Rain – Anas’s story: A man walked up to Muhammad (pbuh) in the prayer of Jumu’ah and stated, “Livestock are destroyed and the roads are cut off.” The Messenger of Allah asked Allah to rain, and it began to pour down from that Friday to the following Friday.
The same person came back and told me, “Houses have collapsed, roads are closed and livestock are destroyed. Please ask Allah to keep rain from coming down.”
Allah’s messenger (saws) was up in the air and declared, “O Allah! (Let it pour) over the plateaus as well as on the hills in the valleys and on the areas where trees are growing.” Thus, the clouds cleared from Medina because clothes were removed . Prophets (pbuh) didn’t lift his hands in the air above his head when he pleaded for rain.
Umayr observed prophets (saws) asking for rain in Ahjar az-Zayt near az-Zawra’ standing and making a prayer, pleading for rain, and lifting his hands to the face but not raising them over his head. Grade: Sahih (Al-Albani) (Reference Sunan Abi Dawud, 1168. Book 3, Hadith 8 English translation Book 3. Hadith 1164
Allah also holds rain off in the case of those who fail to make Zakat (charity).
Ibn Umar reported: The Prophet Peace and blessings upon him, stated, ” Never do people withhold alms from their wealth except that a portion from the sky will be withheld, and were it not for the animals it would never rain.” Source Mu’jam Al-Kabeer Grade: 13454 Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Albani
It is also important (recommended) to allow the rain to run over your body.
It rained on us while we were in the presence of Allah’s Messenger. Allah (saws). His messenger Allah (peace be on his soul) took off his clothes (from an area of his physique) until the rain fell upon it. We asked him”Messenger of Allah Why did you take this action? He replied: It’s because it (the rain) is coming from the Most High Lord. Reference: Sahih Muslim 898 Book reference: Book 9, Hadith 14
Another hadith which advises Muslims to create duaa in the time that rains fall.
Makhul told the story that the Prophet Peace and peace be with him declared, ” Seek an answer to supplication at the time when two armies meet and when the prayer is established and when the rain falls.”
Ash-Shafi’ee stated, “I have learned from more than one teacher to seek an answer to supplication at the time of rainfall and establishing the prayer.” Source Al-Umm AshShafi’ee 419 grade: Hasan (fair) as per Al-Albani
