la ilaha illa anta subhanaka Inni Kuntu Minaz Zalimin – The dua is also referred to as Ayat Karima. It is “There is no good but you, exalted are you, Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers”

The verse from the Holy Quran describes that when the fisherman was angry, he was convinced that We wouldn’t do anything to him.

He fled in a state of rage and, in the midst of darkness he uttered the words “There is no good but you, exalted are you, Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers”

In the end, We helped him and saved the man from his peril. We also save people who believe in Jesus Christ.

If you’ve listened to the famous tale that was told by the Prophet Yunus (AS) and the Prophet Yunus (AS), you’ll be aware that he renounced his people and chose to quit Nineveh with no Allah () consent.

In the hope to find a place which would accept him and his Islamic message faster, His crew members threw him into the sea, and a large fish ate him.

He cried out at this moment of reflection, recalling Allah in his worship of Allah and admitting his shortcomings in the situation by declaring, “Indeed, I have been among the wrongdoers.”

Allah had relieved him upon seeing the truthful and sincere apology. This is the reason prophet Yunus (AS) enters the belly of a fish.

Benefits of La Ilaha Illa Anta Subhanaka Inni Kuntu Minaz Zalimin

The dua’s short form outlines the notion of Tawheed which is among the most fundamental concepts of Islam. You are deliberately and intentionally affirming the fact that Allah () truly is Allah () the only god that is the most elevated by reciting this prayer.

It is then a sign of self-confidence by showing your faults and shortcomings. We must always repent before Allah (swt) when we have the chance.

We’re all guilty of wasting our time. Some of us are more efficient than others however, we all can be better. It is a good idea to spend at the very least some time repeating this verse.

You can be saved from prosecution

The act of reciting this mantra has a lot of benefits , but most importantly it’s a great aid to someone who is being slandered or demonized by a particular person, group of people, or even a group of people.

A oppressors’ dua is more efficient in the manner of Allah () is, since Allah () is the one who defines the persecution to be Haram (forbidden) to be forbidden in Islam Therefore, you can suppliate your sufferings with this prayer.

Prophet Hazrat Mohammad () claimed the following: Allah () has decreed to my followers that I have thought of persecussion as Haram for myself, and I also have considered the persecution to be Haram between you, therefore don’t be a victim to one another. (Sahih Muslim: 6737)

Oppression slumbers in darkness when the day comes for judgment according to the The Prophet Hazrat Mohammad () declared the day of judgment, persecution will take place confronted by darkness on the day of judgement. (Sahih Bukhari: 2447)

That’s why “La Ilaha Illa Anta Subhanaka inni Kuntu Minaz Zalimin” is an amazing dua for those who are oppressed and have been abused by the oppressors.

Protected from Punishment for Oppressors

Allah () didn’t allow understanding (Hidayat) to those who are oppressors and their hearts grow solid, and good deeds don’t influence them, and they did not succeed, as well. Allah () doesn’t like them.

The Prophet Hazrat Mohammad () declared that in the day of the judgment the person who will be judged is hoping that he will be saved by virtue of his acts (Nekiyan).

Thus, the people will be able to see that they had apprehension against him and will continue to take his good deeds and even the fact that his whole goodness will be a done deal.

Following this, another persecuted individual will appear and as the oppressors’ good deeds are done, and the transgressions of the victim are thrown away into the account of the oppressor.

Allah () mentioned numerous occasions within his Holy Quran that the oppressor’s conclusion is not good according to the verse “Indeed there are harsh punishments for oppressors. (Surah Ibrahim: 22)

Escape from the curse of oppressed

Prophet Hazrat Mohammad () declared that to get away to the sorrow of victimized as it’s lifted up to the heavens, Allah () said I swear to my honor, dignity and power that I will surely assist you even if I am the midst of.

This means that it could take some time to be assisted, as there is always knowledge (Hikmat) in all decisions from Allah () however, surely the duas that are oppressed will be heard and assisted.

Prophet Hazrat Mohammad () stated that even if the person being oppressed isn’t Muslim (Kafir) can be protected from his curse since there is no curtain before him.

In a different Hadith it states that one will be freed from the punishment of oppressed person as it rises to the sky in sparks.

THE DU’A OF YUNUS (‘ALAYHIS SALAM)

Question

It is believed within a Hadith that should the Muslim is able to recite this verse 40 times throughout illness and dies, his death will be one from Martyrs (Shahid). If he is cured, and is cured, his mistakes are absolved. The verse (Ayah) will also strengthen the du’a of a person when recited during du’a. (Al-Hakim)

What is the veracity in the Hadith as well as what’s the meaning of the verse?

Answer

Your question is comprised by two Hadiths:

1) Sayyiduna Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“The du’a Yunus (‘alayhis salam) which he made while in the belly of the whale, ‘ La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minaz zalimin‘, no Muslim makes du’a using these words except that Allah will accept that du’a”

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 3505. The Hadith was declared authentic Sahih from Imam Hakim and ‘Hafiz Dhahabi agrees. Mustadrak, vol. 1 pg. 505)

2.) Sayyiduna Sa’d ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu) informs us it was Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa salam) has stated about the verse : La ilaha illa ana subhanaka inni minaz zalimin who is able to read this verse forty times in a time during illness and dies during the disease will receive the honor of a martyr. If they are cured, then is cured under the sense that all his sins are exonerated” (Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 1 pg. 506)

However the Hadith is reported to have an extremely fragile chain. The Muhaddithun have severely questioned the authenticity of the Narrator for this Hadith. “Allamah Dhahabi (rahimahullah) declares that “His narrations are as if they were fabricated’. (Mizanul I’tidal, vol. 3 pg. 256 -number: 5998-)

This story should, therefore, not be quoted.

This is definitely an incredibly powerful du’a. Allah Ta’ala says:

“When [Yunus’s salam] was crying out in the darkness of the belly of the whale], Ilaha illa subhanak inni kuntu minaz, zalimin. We reacted to his call and rescued him from his distress. In the same way, we help the Believers” (Surah Ambiya, Verses: 87 and 88)

Significance of La Ilaha Illa Anta Subhanaka

The dua is also a reference to the notion of tawheed as one of the most fundamental doctrines of Islam. When you say this dua you are conscious and explicitly affirming you believe that Allah (swt) has been declared to be the sole god and the highest. Then, you show your humility by acknowledging your shortcomings and weaknesses.

I’m not sure who stated this, but I think the source to be Hazrat Ali, however the message is still relevant The most sinful thing is one that the sinner does not take seriously. It is imperative to constantly confess before Allah (swt) whenever and anytime we feel free. We all have the responsibility for not making most efficient use of our time. certain people are better than others, but we can all be better. All of us should try to spend as little idle time as we can.

This is why we must incorporate this powerful ayah into our arsenal of duas and Azkar. The best way to perform Dhikr is to read Quran in a way that is able to comprehend its significance.
