Dua After Meal – The Hidden Key to More Rizq! Eating and drinking are essential to our lives for our survival, but as Muslims, it’s important to remember that Allah provided us with sustenance and the means for food and drink. For showing our thanks and gratitude to Allah before and after eating it is recommended to recite specific du’as.
Du’as for After Eating
You should recite this du’a after meal or drinking:
Transliteration:
Alhamdu lillāhil-ladhī at‘amanā wa saqānā wa ja‘alanā minal-muslimīn.
English Translation:
ALL PRAISE IS FOR ALLAH, WHO HAS GIVEN US FOOD AND DRINK AND MADE US AMONG THE MUSLIMS.
Urdu Tarjuma:
تمام تعریفیں اللہ کے لیے ہیں، جس نے ہمیں کھلایا، پلایا اور ہمیں مسلمانوں میں شامل کیا۔
The Prophet PBUH Also taught us the following Prayer:
Transliteration:
Alhamdu lillāhil-ladhī at‘amanā wa saqānā wa ja‘alanā Muslimīn.
English Translation:
ALL PRAISE IS FOR ALLAH, WHO HAS GIVEN US FOOD AND DRINK AND MADE US MUSLIMS.
Urdu Tarjuma:
تمام تعریفیں اللہ کے لیے ہیں، جس نے ہمیں کھلایا، پلایا اور ہمیں مسلمان بنایا
(Sunan At-Tirmizi)
The Prophet PBUH is also narrated the following Dua :
Transliteration:
Alhamdu lillāhi ḥamdan kathīran ṭayyiban mubārakan fīhi
ghayra mūwadda‘in wa lā mustaghnan ‘anhu Rabbunā.
English Translation:
ALL PRAISE IS FOR ALLAH, A PRAISE THAT IS ABUNDANT, PURE, AND FULL OF BLESSINGS,
NEVER TO BE ABANDONED AND NEVER TO BE INDEPENDENT OF HIM, OUR LORD.
Urdu Tarjuma:
تمام تعریفیں اللہ کے لیے ہیں، بہت زیادہ، پاکیزہ اور برکت والی تعریف، جسے کبھی ترک نہ کیا جائے اور نہ ہی ہم اپنے رب سے بے نیاز ہو سکتے ہیں۔ (Sunan At-Tirmizi)

Conclusion
By practicing dua after eating Muslims build their daily lives through both gratitude and spiritual awareness of Allah. Muslims express gratitude to Allah when they eat because this dua both acknowledges nourishment blessings and reinforces the blessing of Islamic guidance.
Referring to these duas as prayers serves to show appreciation to Allah for His infinite blessings during and after meals. Through these short and effective prayers we both stay conscious of Allah’s constant watch over us and we constantly value His gifts to us.
Allah should keep granting us His halal provisions as He makes us among those who maintain unending gratefulness for His blessings.
