Can You Have Intercourse During Ramadan?

Can You Have Intercourse During Ramadan? Have intercourse during Ramadan haram for men and women both, who are obliged to fast during the day. intercourse is a sin during the Fast for which expiation (kaffarah) must be offered.

“You are allowed to engage in sexual activity with your wives on the evening of As-Sawm (the fasts).” They are Sakan (meaning you like living with them) or Libas (meaning you cover your body or screen) for you, and you are the same for them. Allah turned to you, recognized your contrition, and granted you forgiveness because He is aware of your past deception.

Therefore, engage in sexual activity with them, look for the children that Allah has designated for you, eat and drink until you can distinguish the black thread of the night from the white thread of the dawn, and then finish your Sawm (fast) until dusk. [Al-Baqarah 2:187]

Things That Invalidate the Fast

Anything that could invalidate your fast must be avoided. The following things render the fast invalid and necessitate qadaa’ (making up for these days):

  • Eating, drinking or smoking deliberately.
  • Deliberately causing yourself to vomit.
  • The beginning of menstrual.
  • Sexual intercourse or other sexual contact that results in ejaculation
  • Eating, drinking, smoking, or engaging in sexual activity after dawn, erroneously believing that it is not yet Fajr time.

Having sex while fasting is prohibited. Those who participate must make kaffarah (expiation by fasting for 60 days after Ramadan or by feeding 60 impoverished people for each day of fast broken in this manner) and qadaa’ (make up the fasts). The same qadaa’ and kaffarah apply to intentional eating and/or drinking during a fast, according to Imam Abu Hanifah.

Things That Do Not Invalidate Fasting

Using a miswak to clean teeth does not invalidate fasting

During fast, the following things are permissible:

  • Taking a bath or shower. If water is swallowed involuntarily, it will not invalidate the fast. According to most of the jurists, swimming is also allowed in fasting
  • Using perfumes, wearing contact lenses.
  • Taking injections or having a any blood test.
  • Using miswak (tooth-stick) or toothbrush (even with tooth paste)
  • Inadvertently eating, drinking, or smoking—that is, failing to remember that one was fasting.
Having a wet dream and sleeping throughout the day does not violate one’s fast. Additionally, one can start quickly and create ghusl later if they have sex during the night and are unable to make ghusl (bathe) before morning.
    7. during it is acceptable for a husband and wife to kiss during fasting, it is best to strive to avoid doing so so as not to break any other rules.

And Allah knows best.
