DUA BEFORE EATING

DUA IF YOU FORGET TO SAY BISMILLAH

After Eat Dua – If you have forgotten to Recite Bismillah you must be sure to recite this Dua before.

It is narrated by Umm Kulthum: From ‘Aishah that the Messenger of Allah (saws) stated”If he is unable to remember at the beginning, it is his duty to say: ‘Bismillah Awwalihi wa Akhirih (In the name of Allah at the beginning and at its conclusion. )” Sahih (Darussalam) Reference: Jamiat-Tirmidhi 1858 In-book reference: Book 25. Another hadith describes one man who did not say Bismillah. “That man did not speak his Name of Allah (before eating his food) until only a tiny bit in food was left. When he brought it up to his mouth and declared: “Bismillah awwalahu wa akhirah (With the Name of Allah, in the beginning and in the end).” Messenger of Allah (saws) smiled at this and stated, “Satan had been eating with him but when he mentioned the Name of Allah, Satan vomited all that was in his stomach.” Graded Sahih [Abu Dawud, and An-Nasa’iAbu Dawud and An-Nasa’i

DUA FOR AFTER EATING

After Eat Dua – Dua after eating was discussed to Al-bukhari from Abu Umamah. may Allah be happy with him:

Whenever the Prophet (saws) finished a meal, he would say: “Al-hamdu lillahi hamdan kathiran taiyyiban mubarakan fihi, ghaira makfiyyin wa la muwadda`in, wa la mustaghnan `anhu, Rabbuna. (All praise goes to Allah and praise that is pure, plentiful as well as full of praise that is the only thing that to which no one can be uninterested).” Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 5458 In-book reference: Book 70. HADITH AND ETIQUETTE OF EATING

After Eat Dua – Abu Qatadah reported: Messenger of Allah (saws) stated, “He who serves others with drinking water should be the last to drink himself.” [At-TirmidhiAt-Tirmidhi].

Reciting dua prior to or after food is among the numerous rules of eating within Islam. The following are some etiquette for eating that we can follow in accordance with Sunnah:

  1. Make sure you wash your hands after eating.
  2. Read Bismillah
  3. Eat using your right hand. Make use of your right hand when eating or drinking
  4. Consume and drink moderately or avoid drinking too much.
  5. Don’t eat or drink when you are standing.
  6. Clean your hands after you have finished eating.
  7. Never be critical about your food choices and don’t throw away food.
  8. The prayer is read after you’ve finished.

Say Bismillah at starting of the dinner:

A prophet (peace and peace from Allaah be with him) used to say “Bismillaah every time before eating.

He also urged his companions to be sure to say Bismillah. In the words of Prophet Muhammad (peace and peace from Allaah to him) advised, “Eat to honor the Name of Allaah and using your left hand. Take your food from your sides. (Bukhari, Hadith No. 517, Tirmidhi, Hadith No. 1913)

I didn’t mention Bismillah:

The story of Aisha the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) stated, “When you start eating be sure to remember your name Allaah. If you don’t recall the names of Allah Then say “Bismillahi” Awalahu wa Akhirah. (Abu Dawood, Hadith No: 36, Tirmidhi, Hadith No: 1856)

Hand washing starts and finishes:

Hands should be cleaned prior to eating to avoid various diseases could occur. It was the Prophet (peace and peace from Allaah be on him) instructed to wash his hands prior to eating. Ayesha: Ayesha It was the custom of Prophet Muhammad (peace and the blessings of Allaah be with him) utilized to wash all hands from the wrists prior to eating. (Musnad Ahmad)

In another version of the hadith that the prophet (peace and peace from Allaah be upon his soul) was known to play cooling and washing his hands following eating. (Musnad Ahmad and Ibn Majah)

Dastarkhan spread:

Anas (RA) stated”The Prophet of Allah (saw) did not eat from huge pots and feet. Qatada (RA) was asked, what did you have for dinner? He replied: ‘On the dastar khan’s leather. (Bukhari: 537)

Eating using the right hand

The prophet (peace and the blessings from Allaah to him) was known to eat with his right hand for the entirety of his life. He prohibited eating by using the left side of his hand. The narration of ‘Abdullah ibn’ Umar Allah’s Messenger, Allah is Allah, may Allah be pleased with him, and bring him peace, said: because Satan drinks and eats using the left side of his hand. (Bukhari, Hadith No. 538; Muslim, Hadith No. 2022)

Hands licking during eating

The prophet (peace and peace from Allaah be upon his name) always washed his hands after eating. Do not wash hands until they have been licked. The story of Ibn Abbas: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon his soul) told us, “When you eat, don’t wash your hands until after you have cleaned them. (Bukhari, Hadith No: 5245)

Picking up fallen food:

Sometimes, a couple of portions of rice or a slice of bread or other food item falls off the table during eating. If it is possible, I’d like to scoop them up and clean them up before eating them.

If food was thrown out in the Prophet’s meal, the Prophet would grab it and take it to eat. Then, he told Jabir the Prophet: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be on his soul) declared: “If you fall lukma while eating your food, you should throw your dirt away and consume it. Don’t leave it to the devil. (Tirmidhi, Hadith No. 1915; Ibn Majah, Hadith No. 3403)

Don’t eat anything the following foods:

He was against eating food that leans on any item. Consuming food that is lean increases the size of your stomach. In many instances it is a sign of arrogance. The story of Abu Hudhaifah: I was in the court of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be on him). “I don’t eat anything while I’m teased,” he advised one person. (Bukhari, Hadith No: 5190, Tirmidhi, Hadith No: 198)

Do not be caught by the food’s faults:

It’s normal to experience food problems in spite of hundreds of efforts. It isn’t a good idea to argue with your family. It is believed that the Prophet (peace and peace from Allaah be on him) never blamed food for his sins. Abu Hurairah (may Allah be content with his) claimed Muhammad (peace and peace from Allah be upon his soul) did not have any issues in food. He would eat whatever he wanted and did not consume food if he was not happy with. (Bukhari, Hadith No. 5196; Ibn Majah, Hadith No. 3372)

Avoid blowing on foods.

Drinking and eating food can lead to many illnesses. In the time of Prophet Muhammad, (peace and peace of Allah be on him) was against blowing into food items. It was reported by Ibn ‘Abbas that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon his soul) never blows food. He didn’t blow anything when drinking. (Ibn Majah, Hadith No: 3413)

Prayer at the end dinner:

Allaah has mercy upon us with food. Being grateful for this mercy is an integral part of the culture and good manners. It is crucial to express gratitude to Allah when you eat.

When the meal was over, meal The prophet (peace be on him) was known to offer thanksgiving and pray in the presence of Allah. The story of Abu Umama (may Allah be happy with Allah be pleased with him) The prophet (peace and peace from Allah be upon his soul) used to say following concluding the meal, he used to say this prayer alhamdulillahillaji Atamana Wasakana WaJaalana minal Muslimeen.’ (Bukhari, Hadith No. 5456)
