Embrace the Divine Moments – Insights to Illuminate Your Night of Qadr with Spiritual Reflections and Guidance” Laylatul Qadr, also known as the Night of Power, is one of the holiest nights in Islam. It is believed to be the night on which the Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad.
Laylatul Qadr falls on one of the odd-numbered nights of the last ten days of Ramadan. The exact date is not known, but it is most commonly observed on the 27th night of Ramadan.
Muslims spend Laylatul Qadr in prayer and worship. They recite the Quran, pray special night prayers (tarawih), and make supplications (duas). Many Muslims also stay up all night in vigil.
Laylatul Qadr is a time of great spiritual significance. It is a night of forgiveness, mercy, and blessings. Muslims believe that on this night, Allah’s mercy is multiplied and that prayers are more likely to be answered.

There are many signs that are said to indicate the night of Laylatul Qadr. These include:

- The wind is gentle and fragrant.

Here are some ways to prepare for Laylatul Qadr:
- Make a sincere intention to spend the night in prayer and worship.
- Purify your heart and mind by seeking forgiveness from Allah.
- Bathe and wear clean clothes.
- Prepare a special meal to break your fast.
- Go to the mosque early to find a good spot.
- Recite the Quran, pray tarawih, and make duas.
- Stay up all night in vigil, if possible.

Laylatul Qadr is a special night of blessings and forgiveness. Make the most of it by spending it in prayer and worship.
1. Allah has blessed Ramadan by blessing Laylatul Qadr, it is the most beautiful time of year. Worship during this time is superior to worshipping for a whole year. Allah says:
“Indeed, We sat down and sent the Qur’an down on the Night of Decree. And what could you do to know which is Night of Decree? It is the Night of Decree that is better than the thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend upon it with permission from their Lord on everything. Peace will prevail until the dawn appears.” (Al-Qadr 1997:1-5)
2. This Night marked the dawn of the unveiling of the Quran. It was simultaneously delivered via al-Lawh al-Mahfooz (the Preserved Tablet) to the first heaven on Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of the Decree). Then, it was released in stages, spread over 23 years.
It was reported by the Prophet Ibn ‘Abbas ( ) about the verse.
“Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Decree.” The Qur’an was revealed in one go at Laylat al-Qadr, then Allah delivered it on behalf of Allah’s Messenger Allah (s) in a gradual manner.

Badr ad-Deen az-Zarkashi said:
If one asks: what was the purpose behind the Qur’an being re-enacted to heaven all at one time? The answer is to emphasize its awe-inspiring status as well as the status of the person who was the one to whom it was disclosed. It was done to tell the inhabitants from the Seven Heavens, that this book was indeed the final of the Books which were being handed to the final of the Messengers, and the noblest of nations. 2
3. The Messenger of Allaah ( ) declared:
4. The he () was a fervent believer in worshiping God during the final ten nights of Ramadan as he would do during other times. 4
“‘A’isha” ( )said: “When the last ten nights of Ramadan came, the Prophet ( ) would refrain from marital relations, stay up at night and wake his family up.” 5
Al-Haafiz stated: “Staying up at night” means staying up late to perform actions of worship. 6
5.”Du’aa'” is considered one of the best forms of worship. In the words of the Prophet (), “Du’aa’ is ‘ibadah (worship).” 7.
“‘A’isha ( ) said, “I asked: “O Messenger of Allah, If I know which night is Laylat al-Qadr, what should I say?” He answered:
“Say: Allaahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibb al-‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni (O Allah, You are All-Forgiving and You love forgiveness so forgive me).” 8.
- Decrees for the year are made at that time. Allah declares, “On that night is made distinct every precise matter” 9

Ibn Hajar said in his commentary on Saheeh al-Bukharee:
“What this means is that the decrees for the year are decided on that night.” Al-Nawawi further explained that the scholars believed that it’s called Laylat al-Qadr because, at Night, the angels record their resolutions (qadar). 10
It is essential to increase the frequency of du’a during the last ten nights since du’aa is able to alter the Divine Decree and alleviate pain and sadness. Allah says, “Allah eliminates what He wills or confirms, and with Him is the Mother of the Book.” 11
The Prophet () declared: “Nothing can change the Divine decree, except for dual. 12
- Allah appreciates the reverence of his faithful servants on this Night as every other Night. Allah says,
“The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.” 13
The actions are praised and cherished more than those completed in a year.
1,000 months is equivalent to four months and 83 years. The Prophet ( ) said:
“The lifespan for my Ummah is from sixty years to seventy [years].” 14
Allah gives us a lifetime of worship and reward in one Night.

8. The scholars commented that if you’ve broken off in a relationship with someone, i.e., A family member or an acquaintance, Muslim friend, etc., This is the ideal evening to perform the good/khayr of joining them and dissolving the rifts between you. 15
9. “The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.” 16
On this Night In the Night of this Night, an Angel (Jibreel) is the one who gave the Qur’an to Muhammad Muhammad () and descends each year to the world of angels along with other angels. They are thrilled to see Allah’s slaves who obey.

Shaykh Salman ar-Ra’I has said, “The angels are eagerly waiting to meet people who believe on Earth. Therefore, they ask permission from their master (Allah) to descend during this Night, and Allah permits them to fall. After that, they greet believers praying during the Night, with Salaam (peace and greetings).
Ibn Katheer wrote that angels descend with Jibreel, and they go into every Masjid and go up to every worshipper and offer Jibreel Salaam. The long trek that angels, as well as Jibreel, undertake, only to offer Salaam to believers. What a privilege.
